Choose a model
How a request names its model, and how to list the models you can use.
model names a model from the catalog. The canonical form is
provider/model, and GET /v1/models lists every id you can use. The
catalog is also listed on helping.io/models.

reaches the provider-qualified id anthropic/claude-sonnet-5. If more than one
provider serves that name the request is a 400 telling you to use the
provider/model form. model is required on a first
turn; a missing value is a 400 with the message model is required.
